CUT THE COST OF FAMILY TRAVEL WITH SYSTEM ONE TRAVELCARDS

With families feeling the pinch following big festive spend, System One Travelcards, the bus travelcard provider for Greater Manchester, is easing the financial load for families in the region with the launch of two new, great value tickets, and a special offer for Junior BusSaver customers.

System One Travelcards is helping get the kids back to school for less this January, with an exclusive introductory offer for GMPTE’s new concessionary ID card, the igo card.

The igo ID card will be compulsory for all under-16’s travelling on concessionary fares throughout Greater Manchester’s transport network, from May 2011. To celebrate its launch System One is offering discounts on seven and 28 day Junior BusSavers, purchased using the igo card for the first time.

Junior BusSaver customers purchasing their pass with an igo card will enjoy a week’s travel for just £5 (normal price £8), or a month’s travel for just £25 (normal price £30) - but customers should hurry as this offer will end on 31st January 2011!

Families can now also enjoy cheaper travel using the brand new DaySaver plus one and Group DaySaver travel cards, which are available from all PayPoint shops and GMPTE travel shops.

The DaySaver plus one allows one adult and one child under 16 to explore Greater Manchester for just £6 per day, hopping on and off any bus in the System One network at any time.

Larger parties will also be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the region for less, with the Group DaySaver, which permits two adults and up to three children under 16 to travel for just £9 per day.

Allie Johns, from System One Travelcards, commented: “January is always a difficult month financially, following the big Christmas spend. We are happy to be launching two new tickets, which will make travelling around the region cheaper for families.

“We are also pleased to be able to offer our Junior BusSaver customers an exclusive discount, when they sign up for the new igo card. Over 400 people have already signed up and this exclusive offer is the perfect incentive to beat the rush before the card becomes compulsory identification for under 16’s, in May next year.”
